Jensen Beach Green is about building America’s sustainable “shelter-in-place” home TODAY.  For the past 10 years Rob Stehlin had a vision of building a “responsible” home that’s not your normal Zero Net Energy home but one that is extremely efficient in multiple areas (resistance, energy, water & waste) affordable, green, resilient, sustainable, & healthy.  Our “OPEN SOURCE” home project will be adaptable to locations all across the USA, Caribbean and beyond.  That vision has come to fruition in Jensen Beach Green

Applying the latest technology in building science, energy production and storage, water harvesting and water treatment, Jensen Beach Green is driven to change the way our houses are built and function.  JBG wants your house to work for you not you working for your house.  Our expanding team of professionals has over 100 years of combined experience in the DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY and are passionate about creating a national disruption.  Our home design is built on the principle of  “Personal Responsibility” and four fundamental foundations:

Shelter-in-Place Resiliency – Built to withstand a hurricane or tornado packing 250 mph winds, 4 hrs of a wildfire or from fires within, up to 9.0 earthquake without loss of life, and built to withstand the ravages of both dry wood termites, subterranean termites and other wood destroying organisms.  Beyond extreme weather resistance, non-hydrocarbon energy production, installed drinking water and on-site waste water processing systems allow this home design to independently function for months on end when grid based utilities are non functional due to extreme disruption.

Efficiency – Built to eliminate our electric bill, eliminate our water bill, eliminate our sewage bill and built to reduce our insurance bill 75% or more by way of 21st century technology.  Building an efficient home is key to “functional” home ownership of the future.  Built to manage, via mobile phone, all of the home’s integrated systems 24 hrs a day while at home and while away.

Sustainability – Built using efficient off site manufacturing processes that eliminates waste and noise (on site and off site).  Built using recycled materials and materials that can be recycled at the end of the building’s life cycle.

Home occupant health – Built using moisture / mold resistant materials in order to create a passive moisture proof envelope. The battle against moisture in a home starts with the materials used to build the envelope (walls and roof).  Built with an air “conditioning” and filtration system that manages micro zones, moisture and continually purifies the air way beyond EPA standards.  Built with a 21st century aquaponics system to produce an adequate daily supply of plant and fish based foods 365 days a year.
